Me Time
Mason, Ohio
It's been a busy work month for me and it's still going on though not as intensely.
I spent an incredible weekend in the unlikely town of Mason, Ohio with 10 of my college friends. We attended the memorial service for our friend Joel Lind who passed away a few months ago after struggling with a variety of illnesses. I wasn't sure how this weekend would go, and I was pleasantly surprised that, while there were sad moments of missing Joel and many strange feelings that he should have been there (I kept hearing his voice in my head), it was also an amazing weekend of reconnection and the continuation of a conversation that seemed to flow despite the gap of decades since we'd last seen one another.
In the photo taken when we were at the University of Rochester, Joel is in the green shirt. I am in stripes.

You Are Not a Fraud: How to Overcome Imposter Syndrome – Writer Unboxed
Imposter syndrome can manifest as perfectionism and overachievement—to prove to ourselves and others that we’re “good enough.” It often produces a fear of failure that inhibits our risk-taking or keeps us from putting ourselves out there or speaking up for what we want or need. We downplay our success or attribute it to luck instead of our skills and abilities and the great effort we’ve put into our craft. Subconsciously we think our success was just luck or the right timing.
