I've Been Dubbed a "Golem-ologist" Which Tracks
I took a class about the book "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Klay" and the famous Golem of Prague (a man made of clay brought to life by a famous rabbi) makes an appearance in the early chapters. Because I couldn't help myself, I chimed in and said that I am a "golem enthusiast," and then went on to list all the books I've read that include male and female golem characters.
So, I was so excited to see the article below that lists 18 TV shows and movies that include golems. I promptly watched all the videos in the article and, in the interest of saving you time, the best one is the once from The Simpsons. So, watch that, unless you want to watch the entire original film of The Golem, which the article also includes.
Maybe in this era of growing autocracy and hate, I have a not-so-secret wish that some creature made of clay will come onto the scene to save us.
But alas, as the saying goes, "we are the ones we've been waiting for."
Still, it's fun to think about the Golem.

Amazon algorithm changes have led to ‘volatility in visibility’, warn indie authors
The former algorithm, A9, was focused on keyword relevance and historical sales data in how it served products to users. The A10 algorithm appears to prioritise organic engagement and external traffic over paid advertising; with some publishers and indie-published authors saying that the changes mean their books are less prominent and get flagged as bestsellers more infrequently.

Apple Sued by Authors for Copyright Infringement
On Friday, authors Grady Hendrix and Jennifer Roberson filed a lawsuit in Northern California targeting Apple's "OpenELM" large language models, alleging the company "copied protected works without consent and without credit or compensation." The suit accuses Apple of using the Books3 dataset of pirated books and employing its own proprietary Applebot to scrap the web and, potentially, other online "shadow libraries."
Hendrix is a horror writer based in New York whose latest book is Witchcraft for Wayward Girls

Opinion | The W.N.B.A. Is Making More Money Than Ever. Why Aren’t the Players? - The New York Times
Contractually, N.B.A. players get paid roughly 50 percent of what's called “basketball-related income,” which includes most of the league's revenue. The current W.N.B.A.'s collective bargaining agreement does not guarantee that a percentage of league revenue will go to the players. And so even as the W.N.B.A. takes in more money, the league isn't required to share that wealth.
